Straw

$0.00

Straw is a great carbon source for your compost pile. Mix with greens (food waste, green grass clippings, coffee grounds, manure, etc.) for a balanced pile.

C:N Ratio: The carbon to nitrogen ratio of straw can vary from 50-150:1 depending on the grass species. When researching this you may find a variety of different calculations on different websites, it’s probably best to use something in the middle.

The straw is not bagged, you will need to bring a bag/bucket/container to transport.

Straw is available directly from Compost FBX thanks to a donation from St. Isidore Farm. Click the “Reserve Feedstock” button and check out to reserve some straw for your pile and you will receive an email with pick up information.
